Mission
PURPOSE STATEMENT: The purpose of Bigelow Church is to glorify
God and enjoy Him by making disciples who worship God, build each other up in the faith,
and reach our community and world in evangelism and concrete acts of love.
VISION STATEMENT: By the grace
of God we will see people become disciples by putting their faith in Jesus Christ as
Savior, who actively seek to be obedient to Him in every area of life (e.g. personal,
family, work, friendships, recreation, etc.) This will be evidenced by their consistent
practice of spiritual disciplines: prayer, Bible study, relational witnessing, personal
and corporate worship, and the use of their Spiritual gifts. The results will be evident
by growth in character, commitment to new relationships, in ability to minister to others,
and in helping to make more disciples.
MINISTRY GOALS:
GOAL #1
"To build community and fellowship by linking people to one another in meaningful
relationships through small groups." These groups will be the primary identity of the
church and the building blocks of the superstructure. We aim to change the concept of
"church" from the prevalent one that brings to mind programs and building to the
biblical truth that the church is the people of God who belong to one another.
GOAL #2
"To reach the lost with the love and Gospel of Jesus Christ." While the strength
of the church will be its sense of community, the focus of the church will be for the
lost.
GOAL #3
"To disciple Christians in such a way that their hearts and lives are transformed by
the power of the Gospel." The goal of the church is transformation. Our mission is to
experience the power of the gospel to transform our lives and the lives of others as they
are drawn into the love of God that they see in us.
