Ministries
ALL AGES
WORSHIP
is the central ministry of our fellowship designed to promote a
sense of God’s right to be worshipped and adored by His
creatures. Our worship focuses upon the exposition of God’s Word
as the primary tool to bring us and others to a knowledge of a
Holy God and our need to respond to Him. The Word and Ordinances
are the center pieces used to draw attention to God and our
response to Him. Our worship will include music, prayer, offering,
testimonials, and other things found to enhance the Word and
Ordinances. We do ask those who are not saved to consider the
claims of God’s Word and to come to faith in Christ, but this
effort is secondary to the primary goal of worship.
DISCIPLE HOUR
ministry encompasses all ages. Our primary goal is to facilitate
growth in the knowledge of Christ through a systematic study of
God’s Word. This is accomplished through the use of material
like Scripture Press, etc. The Disciple Hour emphasizes
interaction with God’s Word that leads to application of these
truths to everyday life.
MUSIC MINISTRY
exists to promote the glorification of God by means of voices and
instruments. The worship choir leads in congregational worship
through songs, hymns and anthems. Vocal solos, duets, and small
ensembles are regular worship features. Praise through music is
incorporated into the AWANA and BJF youth ministries. The
fellowship is blessed with talented keyboard artists who minister
through the church’s eleven rank pipe organ, nine foot Baldwin
grand piano, and Kurzweil electronic keyboard.
WIRELESS PERSONAL
AUDIO SYSTEM MINISTRY is designed to assist those who
have trouble hearing during our worship services. It consists of a
receiver, like a small, battery operated FM radio and a set of
earphones which fit comfortably in the ear. The receiver has an
on/off switch and volume control. The quality of the sound is
excellent. Everything spoken over the PA system will be broadcast
over the new audio system, which can be picked up by the receiver
anywhere in the building.
FAMILY FELLOWSHIP
MEALS are scheduled quarterly meals to allow for a time
of fellowship without the pressure of having to do something else
relating to ministry of the church body. This is a time when those
who are otherwise involved in other aspects of ministry can relax
and enjoy fellowship with others.
YOUTH
NURSERY
MINISTRY is for newborns through two year olds. This
ministry allows parents of this young group to be involved in
ministries listed above without worry. It is also a time of
teaching and fun for these young ones.
YOUTH CHURCH
is for ages 3 through grade 3. Our primary goal is to teach
children the meaning, purpose, and style of worship followed in
our fellowship. We hope to see these youngsters, upon entering the
fourth grade, move into worship with an understanding that
worship is something we all do.
AWANA/BJF CLUBS
are for ages 3 through grade 12. This is one of our primary
ministries of outreach. We desire for these youngsters to come to
the knowledge of Christ as Savior. This is accomplished through
the material provided by the AWANA/BJF ministries. It is here that
we desire to reach out to unchurched and unsaved children and
their parents while at the same time offering a wholesome ministry
for the children of our own fellowship. Strong emphasis is laid on
Scripture memorization in the AWANA Clubs, while topics dealing
with adolescence are presented in the BJF Clubs.
TAME THE TONGUE
CLUB is a summer ministry for all ages and kids from all
over the county. Kids can earn an official Tame the Tongue T-shirt by
coming three consecutive nights in a row. Every third
Wednesday walk with us to the Second Street Ice Cream Shop and get
any type of ice cream, shake, banana split, flurry, etc. for
free.
ADULTS
SUNDAY EVENING
BIBLE STUDY is
a time for a verse-by-verse study of selected biblical books and
passages chosen by the pastor. From time to time biblical
topics of importance will be studied. This is a time of
discovery and listening to the views and opinions of others.
We also share together in a time of singing, sharing prayer
requests, and testimonies.
WOMEN’S
MINISTRIES provide opportunities for women to meet
together to pray, study, fellowship and to meet needs in the
church body. These are used to help in the process of seeing that
the older women in the faith teach the younger women what God
desires of them.
PRAYER
CHAIN ministry is an effective way of praying for one
another and the specific needs requested. It involves those who
have a desire to serve through prayer. Journals are kept which
include prayer requests and needs passed through the chain.
Answers to prayers are also recorded in the journal, thus giving
all praise and glory to God. Meetings are held to review the
prayer chain ministry and to pray as a group.
MEN'S MONTHLY PRAYER MEETING is
for the purpose of promoting spiritual growth and fellowship through monthly
gatherings. Meets the first Saturday of each month.
TAPE MINISTRY
reaches out to our shut-ins keeping them involved in the ongoing
worship of the body. This ministry also introduces others outside
our fellowship to Biblical based worship. This facilitates
interest and fosters our evangelistic efforts.
