Pastor’s Note:
Not only do we have the privilege of voting for our
next president in November, but we also have the privilege of voting for
our new constitution. There
were three public presidential debates, and we had three congregational
meetings to discuss the proposed changes to our constitution.
I hope by now all of your questions or concerns regarding our new
constitution have been addressed.
We will be voting on the adoption of the new
constitution on Tuesday, November 16 at 7:00 pm.
Your attendance is requested.
We will be voting on the adoption of the constitution prior to
our regular monthly Officers’ Meeting, so note this on your calendar.
No discussion of the constitution will be entertained at this
meeting, just a call for a vote. If
you have any additional questions between now and the meeting time, then
address them to Pastor Frank.
Our Annual Business Meeting will be held on
Wednesday, December 1 at 6:00 pm. At
this meeting we will eat together, and we will vote on church officers
and church budget for the coming year.
Your attendance is requested for this important meeting as well.
The leadership of Bigelow has made it a priority to
keep all of you informed of the decisions we make.
We have also sought your input in the decision making process.
We appreciate your input, prayers, and support as we seek to lead
our congregation in a God-honoring way.
We are servant-leaders who desire to serve you, in such a way as
to lead you to growth in Christlikeness.
This is an exciting time for our fellowship.
I believe the adoption of the proposed constitution will provide
a foundation for growth for years to come.
So, please pray for the upcoming meetings, and make plans to
attend both.
Upcoming Events
We will have Paul Harper back with us on November 7 for our
morning worship service. Paul
is such a delight to have each year.
As you have, make those special invitations for friends and
family to come worship with us on that day.
On Sunday evening, November 28 we will be
decorating the church building for Christmas.
We have traditionally decorated the building on Saturday
mornings, but I thought that this year we would start a new tradition.
My hope is that we can make the decorating accessible to more of
our folks, and that we can enjoy more opportunity for fellowship.
Plans are still in the works for this special evening.
Watch for details in our weekly bulletins.
Sermon &
Sunday Evening Study
We will start our study of the Song
of Solomon on Sunday morning, November 14.
The Sunday evening study will be titled Controversies
That Almost Killed A Church. The
title of the study is from a book by the same title written by Richard
Ganz. We will consider the
many dangers that threaten the vitality of the local church.
Please don’t forget our ongoing Disciple Hour
ministry. We have classes
for the study of God’s Word for all ages.
Come and enjoy all of these times of study. I will see you there.
Thank you.
November is a month set aside to thank God for His abundant blessings
upon us. So, I want to take
this time to thank God for each of you.
You have been a delight to serve with, to grow with, to rejoice
with, and to worship God with. I
am thankful to God daily for each of you.
May God continue to bless His work among us.
In Christ,
Pastor Frank
