Pastor’s Note:
I want to thank each of you for your patience as we
make adjustments and changes to our worship services.
It has been my privilege to learn more and more about what goes
into the order of worship for each weekly service.
Ralph Harrison, Linda Tieman, and Naomi Solomon have been of
great assistance to me in this. May
God continue to give us direction as we seek to honor Him in all that we
do in each worship service.
I hope that you have enjoyed the calls to worship
by the choir in our most recent services.
I have asked Linda to provide these calls from time to time to
prepare our hearts for worship. Also,
I have been working with Naomi and the worship team picking some music
that will facilitate God-centered worship.
They will be providing special calls to worship, special music,
and teaching some new songs to the congregation soon.
New Songs
We will be learning some new songs as a congregation with some
coming from our hymnal, some from the Book of Psalms, and some from the
best of what is being written today.
Be assured that we are weighing the content of all the songs
chosen as well as the style of music.
I am especially looking forward to learning to sing some of the
Psalms. I have never been
in a church where a psalm was sung completely through.
Many songs today have snippets of a psalm in them, but not the
complete psalm. I believe
that adding the Psalms to our musical mix will enhance our understanding
of God’s rightful place of worship, and to provide great comfort to
us.
Sermon Series
We will be considering the role of elders in the New Testament
Church for a couple of weeks. Then
it is my plan to return to the Book of Daniel.
I have to admit that I’m a little uncomfortable in my
understanding of Daniel 7 through Daniel 12.
Many folks seem to have it all figured out, but I’m not one of
them. So, I would
appreciate your prayers as I put my mind to this section of Daniel.
We may differ on the interpretation of these final chapters, but
I trust that we will each be more confident in God’s eternal plan to
redeem a people for Himself.
Upcoming Events
Please mark you calendar for our upcoming Mother’s Day/Father’s
Day Outing at Scioto Hills on Sunday, May 18.
We will have a time of fellowship, activities, and food to honor
our mothers and fathers. We
had a very enjoyable time last year, and we expect an even better time
this year. Please sign up
ASAP. All you have to do is
sign up and show up, as the food and drinks will be provided.
Look forward to seeing you there.
Thank You
God continues His faithfulness to us at Bigelow.
And that faithfulness is reflected in your faithful attendance,
prayer, and financial support. Thank
you, and God bless you.
