Pastor’s Note:
Warmer days have arrived on the heels of the
beginning of summer. And now, we will truly appreciate the air conditioning in the
auditorium. So, there
should be nothing keeping us from gathering together to praise our great
and awesome God each Sunday. Each
week it is a privilege to come together to worship God, and to enter the
very throne room of grace together.
Oh, that we would enjoy a time of refreshing as we sing praise to
God, open His Word, and celebrate the Lord’s Supper!
Let us always keep in mind that we are the participants in
worship, while God is the audience of our worship.
This understanding has a way of getting our focus on the right
thing when we come together, otherwise we might be mistakenly led to
believe it is all about us. No,
it’s all about Him receiving the glory due His Name.
Oh, that we would live for His glory, and not our own!
I have included another article by Bob Kauflin that is helpful in
thinking about worship. I
trust you will find the article helpful and challenging.
Sermon Series
We continue our Sunday morning study in Daniel.
We are close to completing the study.
Daniel has had much to say to us today about how we are to live
in the midst of a pagan society.
Once Daniel is completed we will then jump into the
book of Hebrews. You might
want to read ahead. The
focus of Hebrews is on the superiority of Christ.
We will be challenged to draw near to God through the superior
person and sacrifice of Jesus.
Sunday Evening
We continue our study of the doctrinal statement of Bigelow Church.
It has been a great opportunity to grow as we study the
Scriptures together, and as we share our insights, questions, and
convictions. This study is
the preparation for putting together a doctrinal statement that reflects
where we are, today, as a local body of Christ.
Youth activities continue through the summer.
BJF and Tame The Tongue Club meet each week for study and fun
activities. Don’t miss
these opportunities to grow. There
is room for you, and your family.
July Activities
We will be having our Home Fellowship Dinners on Sunday, July 13 at
6:00 pm. You can sign up to
be a host if you would like, or you can just sign up to be a guest.
These dinners have provided great opportunities for folks to get
to know others in our fellowship better.
If you have been attending here a long time or you are a
newcomer, then sign up and get to know others in our fellowship. The
sign up sheets are on the table in the rear of the auditorium.
We have a special group of bicyclists coming to our
church on Wednesday, July 23 at 6:00 pm.
WheelPower Ministries will be staying in our church building that
evening. They will enjoy a
meal with us, and then they will provide a worship service and
evangelism training workshop. I
hope that you will make a special effort to be here for the dinner and
the service. The training
will be very beneficial to us as we reach out to others with the gospel
of Christ. Please sign up
so we know how much food to prepare.
Security System
We have installed an alarm system as a result of a recent break-in.
Someone broke into the church a couple weeks ago stealing the
majority of our sound equipment. Most didn’t know this or even notice any disruption in our
services. The reason?
Bob Bender, Jr. Bob got us up and running in no time. Thank you, Bob.
If you currently have a key to the building, then it is necessary
that you let Pastor Frank know ASAP.
If you come into the building, and you do not know the security
code, then you may just go to jail …
And, if you do, call Tallerico Bail Bonds …
I think you get the point.
Thank You
I am thankful to God for your continued support of the ministry of
Bigelow Church. May Christ
be glorified as we continue advancing His kingdom.
In Christ,
Pastor Frank
