Pastor’s Note:
Finally, some beautiful weather to enjoy.
It has been a long winter, but spring has arrived!
With spring have come some changes in our church, and some
opportunities to anticipate.
Most of you are aware that Greg Hicks and his
family have decided to return to their previous ministry in South
Portsmouth, KY. I so
appreciated the opportunity to work with Greg for nearly eight months.
His work amongst us will have long-lasting and God-honoring
effects. His time with us
has provided a foundation upon which we can build.
Again, I wish to thank Greg for his assistance, and I pray
God’s richest blessings upon his work in KY.
Worship Changes
At this point, we have no plans to look for a new worship leader.
I have taken over the responsibility of selecting hymns,
choruses, and the overall order of our worship services.
Rick Carrington will serve as worship leader with Linda Tieman
leading the hymns, and directing the choir.
The worship team will continue to be a part of our worship
services. No doubt, we will
continue to make adjustments, but this is a great opportunity to grow.
Please continue to pray for these changes, and that we may honor
God with our worship.
Upcoming Events
The Italian Feast will be on Wednesday, April 2 at 6:00 pm. This year will be a little different. This year we are asking for you to bring an Italian dish to
impress the pastor with. If
not that, then a salad or dessert.
We (Keri & Papa Pete) will be providing our homemade Italian
sauce (gravy according to my aunts) and spaghetti.
Please make plans to attend.
We need you to sign up so we know how much to cook, and how many
tables to set up. This is a great opportunity for our new folks to meet
some of our old folks, so be there!
Each year we have the privilege of having Paul
Harper with us for a series of meetings.
This year Paul will be with us on Sunday morning, April 6, and
then on Monday and Tuesday, April 7 and 8 at 7:00 pm.
Please make plans to attend, and to invite your family and
friends. Paul is a powerful
preacher of the gospel, and has a life that reflects the power of the
gospel. Come and enjoy!
It is time to consider being a part of the upcoming
Crown Financial Ministries Bible Study.
We are making plans to offer a couple of them starting in May.
If you are interested, then please see Harold Mullins. Or you can sign up by using the cards found on the bulletin
board in the back of the auditorium.
Once you have filled the card out, please put it in the offering
plate and you will be contacted. This
has been a blessing to so many of our folks, and it will be to you, too.
During the Easter season, we will be focusing our
preaching around the atonement of Christ.
We will be studying the necessity of Christ’s death, and the
benefits derived from His death. The
messages will be weighty, but they will lift our souls to the heavens in
appreciation for God’s redemptive plan.
Now is the time to invite your family, friends, and coworkers to
hear of God’s great love for lost humanity, and the great price that
was paid to secure eternal redemption.
Thank You.
As always, I want to thank you for your faithful
prayers, service, and giving on behalf of God’s work at Bigelow.
