Soon we will be halfway through the year.
I hope that you have been able to stay up with your Bible
reading schedule. I have
found it a challenge to stay on track, but I’ve also found it
rewarding to make this a priority.
Many have commented on how much they have learned from their
reading, and from our Sunday evening studies.
If you have not been to our Sunday evening study and discussion
time, then please make the extra effort to do so.
We are given the opportunity to reinforce what we have been
reading, and to find ways to apply what we are reading to everyday
life. This is a great opportunity to grow in the grace and knowledge
of Jesus Christ.
Disciple Hour Studies
Please take advantage of our Disciple Hour studies as well. The Adult Parlor Class continues to study through the Bible.
The Adult Basement Class continues in the Active Evangelism
Core Seminar study. We
will be adding a number of weeks to this study to address issues
raised in The Da Vinci Code book.
This fits well with our purpose to equip folks to share the
gospel with others. To do
so, we must know what the gospel is, and The Da Vinci Code
gives us an opportunity to clarify the gospel with all who will
listen. If you are not
currently a part of our Disciple Hour time, then please come and join
us now. We start
discussing the issues raised in The Da Vinci Code on June 4th
at 9:30 am. See you then!
Sermon
Series
We are coming near the end of both sermon series.
Pastor Brian will be concluding his series Encountering Christ, and I will be concluding the book of Amos over
the next month or so. I
plan to start our next sermon series from the book of Galatians. I want to make sure that we clearly understand the gospel of
salvation. I fear we are
in danger of loosing our ground of gospel assurance in the face of a
religiously plural culture. Paul
clearly articulates for us, in Galatians, the ground of our gospel
assurance. So, you might be reading ahead to get a jump on this series.
Reminders
Please remember our monthly Member’s Meetings on the third
Wednesday of each month. Everyone
in our congregation is encouraged to come to be informed.
Everyone’s voice is heard.
I look forward to seeing each of you there.
Don’t forget our Agape Meal on the second Sunday evening of
each month. We enjoy some
time of fellowship around a meal before our evening study.
If you would like to plan one of these meals, then please see
Elder Rick Warner.
Since AWANA has concluded for the year, Tame The Tongue Club
has been meeting each Sunday evening.
Any of our children from the sixth grade to the age of three
are welcome to come. If you have any questions, then please see Deacon Butch
Stall.
Be watching for information on our summer outings.
We so appreciate all that the Deacons do to plan these events.
Thank You
It is a joy to serve Christ with you at Bigelow.
God has been faithful to us.
He continues to meet our needs, and to bless us in so many
ways. He uses your
faithfulness to Him as a means to further the kingdom of Christ.
Thanks for your faithfulness in praying, serving, and giving.
