Pastor’s Note:
January weather has led to some challenges for us
as a church. We had a
couple Sundays when the weather kept some from attending.
It is important for each of you to determine whether it is safe
or not to travel to our services. If
you have any questions about whether we are having services or not, then
listen to one of the following radio stations for cancellation
information: CDR, WPAY, or
WNXT. If we have a Level 2
weather emergency we will automatically cancel services till the
emergency ends. So, be
safe, tune in to one of the radio stations mentioned above, and act
accordingly.
Sermon Series
We will resume our study of the Book of Hebrews this month. In our study we have come to see more clearly the important
work of Jesus Christ as our High Priest.
He made the final, sufficient, and effective sacrifice for sins
for all those who come to Him by faith.
God was pleased to accept this sacrifice as the satisfaction of
His divine justice. As we
continue our study, we will examine the nature of the New Covenant that
guarantees our forgiveness. This
knowledge will increase our joy and peace in uncertain times.
So, read ahead in Hebrews 8-10 and note the nature of this New
Covenant in Christ.
Sunday Evening
We are continuing to study through Psalm 119 verse by verse. I have found the study very encouraging, as it points to the
sufficient Word of God. If
you are not already involved in AWANA or BJF, then come and join us.
Disciplehour
Please remember to take advantage of the special classes that we
offer Sunday morning before worship.
We have classes for young and old.
There are three adult classes to chose from with one meeting in
the Parlor, one in the basement, and the other on the second floor
(college & young adults) . Come
and enjoy the atmosphere of learning more about God’s Word and the
application to life. We are continuing to evaluate our overall Disciplehour
ministry seeking to improve it. If
you have an interest in knowing more about helping in Disciplehour as a
teacher, substitute teacher, or support staff, then please let Charlie
Bond know ASAP.
Painting Project
By now, you are all aware that we have awarded the painting contract
to Valley Painting. The
project will begin this spring and be competed by the end of summer.
I am thankful to all of you for making this possible.
I want to also thank the church officers for helping bring this
to fruition.
Thank You
Once again, I want to thank each of you for your continued prayers,
use of gifts/abilities, faithful attendance, and faithful giving on
behalf of our fellowship. May
our Lord be pleased with our efforts to bring Him glory.
In Christ,
Pastor Frank
