Pastor’s Note:
With April comes the opportunity for us to invite our unsaved,
unchurched family and friends. Many
people accept an invitation to attend church during the Easter season. Easter Sunday is on April 16 this year. These are just waiting for you to invite them, so get on the
phone and make that invitation right away.
Let me also encourage you to invite folks to worship on April
9, as we have Paul Harper with us again.
Two Sunday’s in a row won’t hurt them, nor will it hurt us.
Paul will return in the fall for a couple of nights as he has
in the past. Paul is an
effective communicator of Gospel truth, and I look forward each year
to his coming. Please be
praying for Paul and our upcoming Easter service.
Prayer Request
Will you commit to praying fervently for our upcoming services?
Would you be willing to sign up for a particular time starting
on April 2? Would you
pray for 15 minutes or more, asking God to revive us, as a church?
Would you pray that God would direct you to someone to invite
to church? Would you pray
that God would speak powerfully through the preaching of His Word, and
that sinners would be converted?
I trust that you will join me in doing so.
We will put sign-up sheets out for you to choose the time best
for you. Please don’t
miss this wonderful opportunity to beseech God for His blessings for
His glory and our good.
Upcoming Core Seminar
On April 16 we will begin a new Core Seminar at 9:30 am.
The title of this seminar is Active
Evangelism, and will last thirteen weeks.
We will be reading through a small paperback book, and then
discussing the implications to us as a church.
Every church, and every member of the church, needs to be
involved in sharing the Good News of salvation in Christ.
Much of the growth of Bigelow Church is dependent upon us
getting this into our daily practice.
So, if you love Christ, and you love His Church, then make this
a priority. I look
forward to seeing you on April 16 at 9:30 am in the basement
classroom.
Also, some practical training sessions will be offered, to help
with putting what you are learning into practice.
These will be offered on Wednesday evenings, with the dates
being announced in our weekly bulletins.
Our Covenant
Let us remember our Church Covenant.
Just as God continually reminded His people in the Old
Testament of their covenant responsibilities, I think it important for
us to be reminded of our covenant responsibilities.
We have a responsibility to our Lord who saved us, and we have
a responsibility to one another.
It is easy to forget our covenant with God, and to one another
in the midst of our busy lives, but let us make the extra effort to
commit to doing what we said we will do when we became members of
Bigelow Church. Please
listen carefully as we read the Church Covenant on the first Sunday of
each month. Or, if you
wish, then go to our website (www.bigelowchurch.org)
and read it there. May
God bless the commitments we have made to Him and one another!
Thank You
Thanks again for you faithful prayers, attendance and giving
for the cause of Christ at Bigelow.
In Christ,
Pastor Frank
