Pastor’s
Note:
Spring
has finally come, and I am delighted.
There are many exciting things planned for this spring here at
Bigelow. I hope you will
take some time to consider each, and to participate in as many of
these growth opportunities as possible.
Core
Seminars Begin
The
first of our Core Seminars begins on Sunday, April 3, at 5:00 pm.
This seminar is
for all the men (young and old) who attend Bigelow Church, and will
last four weeks, meeting for one hour each week.
I
believe that this seminar will provide a good foundation for growth in
our individual families, and in our church family.
We will seek to understand God’s design for the family, and
the man’s place in this family.
May God help each man among us to become Mighty
Men! See you Sunday,
April 3, at 5:00 pm in the basement dining room.
Women’s
Retreat
Lest
the women feel left out, the women of Bigelow Church will have their
annual retreat on April 15 & 16 at Scioto Hills.
This year’s theme is “Who Am I?”
The retreat speaker is Susan Dernlan.
I
believe that this retreat will be of great benefit to the woman who
desires to know who she is in Christ.
The cost is $50.00. If
you are not able to pay for the retreat, then please go ahead and sign
up anyway. Provisions
have been made to cover the cost of the retreat for those unable to
pay at this time. We
don’t want money to be a barrier to enjoying this wonderful weekend.
Paul
Harper’s Back
Each year it is our privilege
to have Pastor Paul Harper of England with us.
This year he will be with us on Sunday morning, April 17 at
10:45 am. He will also be
preaching on Monday, April 18 and Tuesday, April 19 at 7:00 pm.
Please make plans to attend and invite
others to come with you. Paul
brings great understanding and insights into God’s Word, and he also
brings great excitement in his preaching.
See you at the meetings.
Family
Worship Guides
I
have been encouraged by the comments made about the usefulness of the
weekly Family Worship Guide. I
want to encourage each family at Bigelow to use the guide to help your
continued growth in Christ. The
FWG is designed to facilitate further discussion of and application of
the weekly sermon.
It
is good here to remind us of our philosophy of ministry:
To build strong families
through practical biblical instruction with frequent evaluation.
The FWG is just one of the tools we have designed to help
accomplish our philosophy of ministry.
If you haven‘t been using it, then please start today.
Staff
Addition Update
We, the elders, are continuing
to discuss the importance and priority of adding additional staff.
We want to make sure that we have collected enough pertinent
data to make an informed decision, and have spent adequate time in
prayer on this issue. We
would ask that you pray for us as we seek to make wise and godly
decisions in this matter. We
will keep you informed on the matter.
Thank
You
It is my continued privilege to serve as the pastor of Bigelow Church.
I so appreciate your prayers for our church and her leaders.
I also appreciate your faithful attendance, service, and
giving. May God continue
the good work He began among us.
